Pool Meta Ads Lead Generation Case Study

Background

The pool company needed a reliable stream of estimate requests from homeowners considering a new pool. Because a pool is a high-consideration purchase, the campaign had to reach people early enough to influence the project while still giving them a clear, low-friction reason to respond.

The objective was lead generation - not reach, engagement, or website traffic.

Strategy

We built the campaign around Meta instant forms and a direct free-estimate offer. The creative approach focused on attractive finished pools, simple homeowner language, and a clear next step.

The campaign included:

  • Meta instant lead forms to reduce conversion friction

  • a $30 daily campaign budget

  • visually strong pool and spa imagery

  • direct messaging for homeowners already considering a pool

  • a free, no-obligation estimate offer

  • multiple creative variations to identify both volume and cost-efficiency winners

  • ongoing budget allocation based on lead performance

Winning Creative

The strongest creative opened with a simple question: “Thinking about a pool?” It immediately identified the relevant homeowner and followed with a low-risk next step: “Get a free estimate first.”

The ad worked because it did not overload the prospect with technical details. It combined a desirable finished-pool visual with an offer appropriate for someone still evaluating the project.

Results

The campaign generated:

  • 73 Meta lead-form leads

  • $45.72 average cost per lead

  • $3,337.33 total ad spend

  • $30 daily campaign budget

The leading individual ads included:

  • 23 leads at $42.20 per lead

  • 20 leads at $37.24 per lead

  • 14 leads at $46.45 per lead

  • one smaller test producing 4 leads at $24.35 per lead

The 23-lead ad delivered the highest individual lead volume. The 20-lead ad produced the strongest combination of scale and efficiency among the mature variations. The $24.35 CPL result was promising but came from only four leads, so it should not be treated as the definitive campaign winner without more spend.

Key Insight

For a considered purchase such as a custom pool, the first conversion does not need to sell the entire project. It needs to make the next step easy. The combination of aspirational imagery, immediate service relevance, and a free estimate created enough intent to generate 73 inquiries without a complex funnel.
